Sue Stevens, CPA/PFS, CFP®, CFA®, CAP®
Sue Stevens has a passion for creative collaboration that results in innovative solutions for individuals and entities. In her role as a wealth advisor, Sue combines her background as a musician and author with her extensive training in personal finance and entrepreneurial experience. She has a deep commitment to philanthropy and enjoys helping others explore how much is enough and how much they can give.
Sue earned an MBA from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago and she holds a master’s degree in wealth management from The College for Financial Planning. Her undergraduate degree is in music performance from Northwestern University. In addition, Sue is a Certified Public Accountant/Personal Financial Specialist, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy and a Chartered Financial Analyst® charterholder.
Prior to her firm becoming a part of Buckingham Strategic Wealth in 2018, Sue founded and led Stevens Wealth Management in Deerfield, Illinois, for nearly two decades. She is also the founder of Stevens Visionary Strategies and previously has been in leadership roles at Morningstar, Vanguard and Arthur Andersen. Sue had a career as a professional cellist playing freelance in the Chicago area with many well-known entertainers and professional orchestras.
Her books, “Put Your Money Where Your Heart Is” and “Radiant Wealth,” have won multiple awards. Sue founded the personal finance newsletter “Practical Finance” for Morningstar.
Sue is active in many organizations supporting talented musicians, animal sanctuaries and soul development.
