Associate Wealth Advisor
Kurt Wunderlich, CFA, CFP®
As a former minor league pitcher, Kurt witnessed several teammates being taken advantage of financially. The players would turn over their financial lives to people who didn’t explain how they planned to help meet the players’ financial goals. That experience motivated Kurt to make finance his career, so he could help people understand the financial markets and the science behind investing.
As an associate wealth advisor, Kurt works with an advisory team to manage portfolios, offer advanced planning and identifying tax-efficient strategies. But what Kurt most enjoys is explaining Buckingham Strategic Wealth’s evidence-based approach to investing. The most rewarding part of Kurt’s day is hearing that he helped someone have a better understanding of the market and the firm’s investment approach.
Kurt received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Michigan State University, where he helped the baseball team earn a conference championship. He also earned an MBA from the University of Phoenix and has passed the Series 7 and Series 66 exams. Kurt earned his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2017 and his Certified Financial PlannerTM professional designation in 2018.
Kurt lives in his hometown of St. Louis with his wife and two daughters. He works with several charitable organizations, including Forest Park Forever and Senior Dogs for Seniors. In his spare time, he plays golf and tennis and enjoys cooking, traveling and watching sports.
