Joel Martin, CFP®, CKA®
For Joel Martin, financial planning is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others. He believes the profession gives him, and all advisors, the rare chance to develop deep and long-lasting relationships with clients. He enjoys his role as the trusted resource that families rely on to navigate complex financial challenges. In short, Joel knows that sometimes people simply need the help of an advisor who is fundamentally dedicated to doing the right thing for the client.
As a wealth advisor, Joel manages client assets through portfolio and retirement analysis, wealth transfer, and risk management. He’s motivated by seeing the relief clients feel when they see how a holistic approach of financial planning can work toward achieving their financial goals. Joel also specializes in 401(k) plans and works with business owners to develop retirement plans that best meet their needs, as well as assisting the employees with enrollment and investing advice.
Joel joined Buckingham Strategic Wealth through the firm’s 2016 merger with Denver Money Manager LLC, where he had served as a financial advisor since 2011. Prior to that, Joel spent four years working as a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch.
A graduate of West Point, Joel served as an officer in the United States Army from 2002 until 2007. His military service included leading a company and serving as Brigade Engineer and operations officer in Iraq. Joel is a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, which is awarded for meritorious service in a combat zone.
Joel earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2002, in addition to an Executive MBA from the University of Colorado in 2012 and a master’s degree in marketing from the University of Colorado Denver in 2014.
