Advisory Team Leader
Jeff Johnson, CFP®
Jeff Johnson has worked in the financial services industry since 1982 and has many longstanding clients. These relationships — built on mutual trust and a deep understanding of his clients’ goals — feel far more like family than business to Jeff. So it’s no surprise the importance he places on helping clients make smart money decisions that align with their responsibilities and goals.
Nothing is more rewarding for Jeff than the satisfaction of helping clients achieve their objectives — such as educating their children, accumulating for an enhanced lifestyle, making meaningful charitable contributions and having a comfortable life after working.
Jeff works with clients to create comprehensive financial plans tailored to their individual circumstances. His evidence-based approach involves reviewing all parts of a client’s financial life, including investments, retirement planning, education savings, estate planning, charitable giving and tax strategies.
Prior to joining Buckingham Strategic Wealth in 2017, Jeff was president of Executive Wealth Management, which he founded in 2004. He had previously served as senior vice president and senior portfolio manager at a major Wall Street investment firm and established his own firm because he wanted to do better work for fewer clients. Jeff earned his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
Jeff is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and is president of NAPFA’s Midwest Board of Directors. He is a past member of the advisory board of the Journal of Financial Planning. He is the author of four books: “The Extreme Retirement Planning Workbook,” “The Five Financial Foundations,” “The Eight Points of Financial Confidence” and “The Five Financial Foundations for Physicians.” Jeff is currently working on a new book, “The Bookkeeper and The Surgeon.”
In the community, he teaches personal finance at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is president of the Board of Trustees at First Plymouth Church.
