Sue Stevens, CPA/PFS, CFP®, CFA®, CAP®
Sue Stevens combines a passion for the arts with critical thinking inspired at University of Chicago’s Booth MBA program. She has been in leadership roles at Morningstar, Vanguard and Arthur Andersen. Before joining Buckingham Strategic Wealth in 2018, Sue founded and led Stevens Wealth Management on Chicago’s North Shore for 18 years.
Sue was a professional cellist before starting her career in private wealth management. She still plays the cello and loves helping others find their philanthropic passions. Sue is a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy, a Certified Public Accountant/Personal Financial Specialist, Chartered Financial Analyst® charterholder and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. She has a Master of Science degree in wealth management from The College for Financial Planning. Her undergraduate degree in music is from Northwestern University.
Writing articles and books about money and meaning has been a part of Sue’s professional life since she started writing for Morningstar, where she founded their personal finance newsletter “Practical Finance.” Both her books, “Put Your Money Where Your Heart Is” and “Radiant Wealth,” have won multiple awards.
Sue collaborates nationally in several thought leadership groups, including the Athena Group composed of leaders in the AICPA personal finance arena.
Outside of work, Sue is a student of mysticism and finds joy in simplifying life and focusing on what’s essential.
