Jeff Eschman, CFP®
Jeff Eschman’s decision to enter the realm of financial planning started with a mid-career epiphany: He wanted to do work where his successes had a positive impact on people’s lives, but in a highly personal way. So he brought the skills he learned solving problems and managing projects for a large oil company into the world of personal finance. Now, Jeff uses the wide experience he has since gained as a financial planner to help his clients achieve their most important objectives.
As a wealth advisor in Buckingham Strategic Wealth’s Houston office, Jeff works with clients to create a comprehensive, evidence-based financial plan, and then maintain it by coordinating investment management, wealth transfer, tax and estate planning and risk management strategies. In short, he quarterbacks all the moving parts that go into the delivery of true, client-focused wealth management and the best, personal-fit solution.
Jeff knows that clients put a huge amount of trust in him and his colleagues when they discuss the goals and values central to their lives. And also he understands the enormous responsibility that comes with helping clients explore their priorities and choose their best financial path. He believes that building strong relationships is the most effective way to make a real difference in his clients’ lives.
Jeff came to Buckingham through the firm’s 2015 merger with Houston-based Posey Capital, where he had served as Vice President and Director of Planning since 2009. In that role, he led the firm’s financial planning effort, ensuring that clients consistently received best-in-class service.
Prior to joining Posey Capital, Jeff ran his own fee-only financial advisory firm, Brazos Financial Advisors, which he founded in 2006. Before entering the wealth management profession, Jeff had a successful 15-year engineering and project management career at Marathon Oil, gaining valuable experience in long-term planning, economic analysis, budgeting and risk control.
Jeff earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1990. He was awarded the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional designation in 2010 after graduating from Rice University’s Certified Financial Planner Certification Education Program. Jeff remains a registered Professional Engineer.
Outside of work, Jeff, who grew up in Houston, enjoys sailing and traveling with his wife, Jill.
