Al Sears joined Buckingham Strategic Wealth in 2003, and as the firm has grown and evolved over the years, so too has Al’s integral contribution to the firm’s leadership team and overall success.
Al’s trajectory is a testament to his versatile skills, passion for the firm’s pledge to “do well by doing good” and his keen eye for strategic growth. Today, Al serves as Chief Operating Officer of Buckingham and BAM Advisor Services. He is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the firm’s core services, including fixed income, technology, client service, compliance, marketing, training and development, data, billing and the onboarding and integration of new Buckingham offices.
Al also serves as President of BAM Advisor Services, the firm’s turn-key wealth management partnership offering, which delivers an array of value-added solutions and services to more than 140 like-minded firms across the country. He is firmly committed to continually strengthening the community of wealth advisors who share our devotion to helping clients achieve their most important goals.
Delivering a best-in-class client experience is near to Al’s heart. As such, he works with other members of the firm’s leadership to ensure the efficient execution of Buckingham’s client-focused operational initiatives.
Al, who sits on the firm’s Board of Managers and Executive Committee, has nearly 15 years of business and industry experience in team development and management. His previous roles at the firm include President of BAM Advisor Services and Director of Fixed Income.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors.
Al has long leveraged his talents and financial know-how to benefit his community. Locally, he is an advocate for the at-risk populations in St. Louis through his involvement with the nonprofit Employment Connection, where he sits on the board of directors and serves as treasurer. He is also a member of the State of Missouri’s investment advisory committee. State Treasurer Clint Zweifel invited Sears to join this committee, which is a small group of investment professionals who provide support directly to the treasurer.
Al lives in Glendale, Missouri, with his wife, Joy; son Andrew; and daughters Natalie and Gianna. They are active members of the St. Peter Parish in Kirkwood, Missouri.
